What makes you sweat?
Running, playing soccer, yoga, crossfit, lifting, hiking
What drives you to live a clean, healthy lifestyle?
I come from a family that has a high rate of heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Diet and exercise beyond what a general practitioner prescribes is almost non-existent. I want to be an example to them and show them that if you fuel your body with the right nutrients, accompanied by exercise, you can turn your health around and prevent diseases in which we are genetically predisposed to from surfacing.
Your best motivational advice?
“Live in possible.” Live your life knowing you can seek out any opportunity or possibility that comes your way. Let go of the idea of “that’s impossible, or there is no way I can do that.” Just like I tell my students, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. All you need is a little bit of perseverance, will power, and determination.
Who/what is your spirit animal?
My spirit animal is a dolphin. Dolphins are very social creatures that place a high emphasis on family and community. They are compassionate and continuously work together to protect and to ensure the overall success and well being of their pod.
Who inspires you most?
My husband. He is so passionate about life and helping others through his talents in health and fitness. He doesn’t settle for average or mediocre. He is always striving to be the best version of himself; something he challenges me to do everyday.
Favorite workout song/artist?
I love working out to upbeat music that I can sing along or dance to, like Cheap Thrills by Sia. But, when I am feeling a little exhausted and wanting to quit, I like to put on Till I Collapse by Eminem for some extra motivation to keep me going.
